1. HB2699 and HB2700: Good News and Bad News

Recently, Gilbert Watch asked you to email Arizona Senators asking them to support two important bills: HB2699 Endangered Species - Program Rescission - Reimbursement and HB2700 ..."recover all state lands that have been acquired by the federal government.  The good news is that HB2699 passed.  The bad news is that HB2700 failed to pass.

As a precinct committeeman, I visit with citizens.  Most are unaware that our country is swiftly being taken over by the federal government agencies made up of unelected bureaucrats who are paid by the taxpayers.  This lack of awareness stems from their source of news.  These citizens are also unaware that the newspapers they read and most of the television reporting they watch are part of what has truly become the Collectivist Media.   For example, the collectivist media did not report one of the most significant events in American history:  The Cliven Bundy vs the BLM stand-off.  Why?  Because the fact that over 2,000 patriotic Americans standing up for individual liberties does not fit the collectivist agenda.

2. Thursday, April 3: Ralph Heap Fundraiser

Please don't miss this special fundraiser on behalf of Dr. Ralph Heap's candidacy for Arizona Senate in Legislative District 25.  He is running against incumbent Bob Worsley.

"Remember, Obamacare is not about health insurance for the poor.  It is about control of one-sixth of our economy," states Dr. Heap.

“I believe in the promise of America, and I will work hard to fulfill that promise. This is the greatest nation on earth, and its greatness lies in the brilliance of the Constitution. Everything good about America stems from the liberties protected by this majestic document.

"We stand at a crossroads.  One of the biggest problems we face today is the takeover by the federal government of our healthcare system.  Unless many of us in the medical profession stand up to these bureaucrats, we face a dismal future.

"From the youngest to the oldest, from the healthiest to the sickest, no one will be untouched by this federal power grab.  I hope to accomplish many things if I am elected, including fixing our healthcare system, preserving the Constitution, reigning in the EPA, strengthening our schools, supporting our law enforcement officers,  lowering taxes, decreasing regulations, and shrinking government.  Preserving liberty means less government and more individual freedom. That is my goal.”

3. Another Chance to Weaken Common Core's Death Grip - Say YES to HB2316

By now you have probably heard that 5 Republican senators joined the Democrat Bloc and voted down both SB1395 and SB1396.  They are the same 5 senators who voted FOR Medicaid Expansion:  Adam Driggs (LD28), John McComish (LD18), Steve Pierce (LD1), Michele Reagan (LD23), Bob Worsley (LD25).

John McComish decided not to run for re-election about 5 minutes after Tom Morrissey entered the race.  Tom is a clear conservative choice.  HERE is the link to his website.  HERE is the link to his Facebook page.

Michele Reagan won’t be running for re-election, because she is running for Secretary of State.   Obviously, we do NOT support that effort.

Bob Worsley has an excellent challenger, Dr. Ralph Heap.  Please read more about Dr. Heap and support his candidacy.  His website is getting a face lift.  In the meantime, HERE is his Facebook page.   Also HERE is his donations page!  There is a Comedy Night Fundraiser coming up in April.

This bill will be heard in the Senate Committee on Education tomorrow, March 20 at 9 am.  There are 9 senators on this committee, 6 of whom are Republicans.  If you are registered on the RTS system, please offer your comments of support for this bill.  You can find the email addresses of the 6 Republican senators (Chester Crandell, David Farnsworth, Al Melvin, Rick Murphy, Kelli Ward, Kimberly Yee) HERE

The summary of this bill doesn’t do it justice. Check Provisions #1 through #10.

Here is Provision #3:  Prohibits ADE from requiring the adoption of specific curricula or instructional approaches.”  How many times have you heard the constant chant from John Huppenthal and the entire Arizona Department of Education “Team" stating that ACCS is a set of "standards."     “It isn’t curriculum.  It isn’t curriculum.  It isn’t curriculum.”

Now take a look at these statements made by Ze’ev Wurman (an expert on mathematics standards and assessment) in this March 19, 2014 article titled The Education of Mr. Gates:

4. Dr. Ralph Heap to run against Bob Worsley in LD25

Please attend the Thursday, Jan. 9 meeting of the Mountain View TEA Party and meet an excellent conservative candidate who is running against Bob Worsley (LD25) in 2014.   Dr. Ralph Heap, an orthopedic surgeon, received his M.D. from the University of Arizona College of Medicine in 1978, and has been practicing for 30 years.

.  The meeting takes place at 7 pm in the Mesa Utility Building,  640 N. Mesa Dr.

ObamaCare will destroy our healthcare system and our economy with it.  It is an unmitigated disaster, yet my opponent voted to expand and fully implement ObamaCare here in Arizona, committing the taxpayers to hundreds of millions of dollars in new costs and further surrendering our health care system to the federal government.  As a doctor, I know the issues, I know what is at stake, I will be an effective voice at the Legislature, and I will fight passionately for free market reforms and the end of ObamaCare."  Dr. Ralph Heap

In just ONE legislative session, Bob Worsley raised taxes, voted for Obama-care (the Medicaid expansion), violated Prop 108  (the Taxpayer Protection act), voted against Pro-Life Amendments, voted for taxpayer funded scholarships for illegals (which is also a violation of the law), and he scored the worst of any Republican Senator from Americans for Prosperity--earning the Hero of Big Government award.

In fact, three Democrats scored higher than Bob Worsley, including the Democrat Minority Leader Chad Campbell!

5. Please attend tonight's Arizona Red Mountain Patriots Meeting!

Do you recall the Medicaid Expansion vote, and how so-called Arizona Republican senators and representatives joined Democrats to pass this law in the legislature?  Remember Bob Worsley LD25, who voted for the Medicaid expansion, and how he ran as a conservative, even Pro Life?  Voters in LD25 were outraged by Mr. Worsley's  "Big Government" votes.  His Legislative District leadership even voted to censure him over his actions.

"In just ONE legislative session, Mr. Worsley, raised taxes, voted for Obama-care (the Medicaid expansion) violated Prop 108  (the Taxpayer Protection act), voted against Pro-Life Amendments, voted for taxpayer funded scholarships for illegals (which is also a violation of the law), and he scored the worst of any Republican Senator from Americans for Prosperity--earning the Hero of Big Government award."

Go to, enter Worsley in the Search box, and you will see why it's no surprise that Bob Worsley behaved exactly the way we predicted he would.

Dr. Ralph Heap to run against Bob Worsley in LD25.

An excellent conservative candidate has emerged to run against Bob Worsley in 2014:  Dr. Ralph Heap.

“I think Mr. Worsley campaigned as a conservative, and I just don’t feel like he’s responded that way in his time in the Senate,” stated Dr. Heap. “I’m an orthopedic surgeon. I’m particularly disturbed by the Medicaid expansion and the facilitating of Obamacare in Arizona.”

Dr. Heap received his M.D. from the University of Arizona College of Medicine in 1978, and has been practicing for 30 years.

Please come to tonight's meeting of the Arizona Red Mountain Patriots and meet Dr. Ralph Heap!   Tonight's event is essentially his campaign kickoff, so he'll have petitions there, campaign literature, etc.  Also, the Heap Family Blue Grass Band will be entertaining the audience as well.

Arizona Red Mountain Tea Party Patriots: Monday, November 4th at 7:00pm (meeting start), doors open at 6:00pm East Valley School, 7420 E. Main St., Mesa 85207.

6. Arizona RINO Legislators vs Republicans

There are three very good places to go for help in distinguishing RINO Arizona Legislators from the Republicans:  The Arizona Conservative Coalition (formerly PAChyderm Coalition), Americans for Prosperty-Arizona, and Goldwater Institute.  Each of these organizations rate Arizona legislators every year.

To see how your Legislator rated with the Arizona Conservative Coalition, go here.

Americans for Prosperity-Arizona has rated both legislators and Governor Brewer here.

Goldwater Institute has issued their 2013 Legislative report here

7. "The Gang of Six" by Supervisor Sylvia Allen

by Sylvia Allen, Navajo County Supervisor, District 3.
Former Arizona State Senator

President Reagan:  "You can't be for big Government, big taxes, and big bureaucracy and still be for the little guy."

Why is it that elected officials don't learn from history, and why do some stray from sound principles?

Some Background:  During my first two weeks as a state senator in June of 2008, the legislature was finalizing the last Napolitano budget.  For the prior five years of her governorship, her state budgets had increased by a billion dollars in spending each year.  The next year, as we prepared to vote on the budget, the state had a $3 billion deficit.  The next three years were gut-wrenching, as we had to cut spending and borrow money to bring the state budget back in balance.  We worked hard to accomplish this without increasing taxes that would have put more of a burden on businesses and our citizens.

On May 16 of this year, six Republican Senators (Rich Crandall, Steve Pierce, John McComish, Adam Driggs, Bob Worsley, and Michele Reagan) forgot this past budget history, as well as their conservative principles.  But, much worse, they turned on their fellow Republicans and voted with Senate Democrats in an amendment feeding frenzy that resulted in a pork-heavy, spend-expand-grow budget that increased the proposed balanced budget by $306 million.
