- 11. Voting - Heads or Tails?
If you haven't been introduced to GilbertPolitics.com, I urge you to get acquainted. This blog is published and thoughtfully written by concerned citizen and constitutional conservative Travis Dutson. He unapologetically states, "Yes, I'm opinionated." Please take advantage of his carefully studied, respectful opinions. In his most recent post titled Voting - Heads or Tails, Mr. Dutson provides insight into why he has chosen to support certain candidates, including those running for U.S. Senate, Congressional CD5, LD12 Arizona Senate and House, and Gilbert Town Council.
We enjoy our liberties because of people like Travis Dutson who fights to protect them! As you read his article, be sure to click on the link and read the Comments, which are equally enlightening. Enjoy!Click here to read more
- 12. Itasca Small for Arizona Senate (LD25): DEFEAT Bob Worsley!
Itasca Small is an official write-in candidate running against Bob Worsley in LD25. Ms. Small is a long-time supporter and activist for Arizona's sovereign rights, local control over education, and stopping the Common Core machine. She is pro-Bill of Rights, Parental Rights, and Individual Liberty. She is against the misuse of tax dollars, including subsidizing corporate welfare and taxpayer-paid entitlement programs, such as ObamaCare (Medicaid Expansion). Her campaign slogan is "Liberty Begins in our Own Backyard! SMALL for small government!"
Itasca is not a passive observer of the Arizona Legislature; rather, she has spent hundreds of hours at our State Capitol as a citizen lobbyist, defending both our U.S. Constitution and Arizona Constitution, and.educating legislators on the proper role of government.
I have known and worked with Ms. Small on many occasions. She is unapologetically passionate about her convictions. Yet, she is always open, respectful, and gracious when responding to differing views. Her humility is refreshing. See her article titled Arizona Standards Committee Working on a Faulty Premise.
States Ms. Small, "I am not a natural speaker. But God gives me the words, and, in spite of my aversion to public speaking, live audiences are usually inspired by my message. I'm thankful that God helps me to do as well as I do."
If you want a candidate who will be faithful to her Oath of Office, please write in Itasca Small for Arizona Senate (LD25).
In this short video clip from a meeting in November, 2015, she spontaneously and passionately speaks to some issues relating to Common Core.Click here to read more

- 14. Bob Worsley's Anti-Parent Votes
You will find this statement on Legislative District 25 incumbent Senator Bob Worsley’s website: “Family has defined my life..” How nice…..for him and his family. But he has no respect for your family, or your fundamental liberty as a parent to “direct the upbringing, education, health care, and mental health of your children.” This God-given right is honored and upheld in the Arizona Constitution. See Arizona Revised Statutes 1-601 and 1-602 explicitly protect parental rights.
Please consider Official Write-In Candidate Itasca Small, NOT Bob Worsley.
Nobody--and no entity--has the right to insert themselves between you as a responsible, caring, and protective parent and your own child. Nobody!
They have voted against every attempt by true conservative legislators to return our K-12 educational system to Arizona, local school districts, and parents.
Worsley and his RINO gang have repeatedly voted against parental opt-out rights. They have repeatedly voted to retain the nationalized Common Core system, including its aligned curriculum, and whatever assessments (PARCC, AZMERIT) are aligned with them. (If you haven't educated yourself about the unvalidated, federal/corporate take-over of our local K-12 schools, I suggest you begin by spending 40 minutes watching BUILDING THE MACHINE - The Common Core Documentary. You will know more about CC than 90% of elected officials at both the state and federal levels. Also read The National Common Core Standards System. Also see articles listed below.)
Bob Worsley's voting record proves beyond a shadow of doubt that he is very comfortable with Big Government, Big Corporate, and Special Interest control over the education that every Arizona child receives beginning in Kindergarten through Grade 12.
He has helped defeat excellent bills that would have allowed Arizona, local school boards, and parents determine what's best for Arizona's students. These bills include:Click here to read more

- 16. Gilbert Watch Supports Warren Petersen for Arizona Senate
It has never been more important than now to elect solid conservatives with a voting record that backs up their rhetoric. So it is with Warren Petersen, who is running for Arizona Senate in LD12. As a state representative, he stood up for families and the unborn, for local support and control of education, and for the independent business person. His votes are testimony to his fight against overbearing regulations that hurt businesses and our economy. He has repeatedly protected our Second Amendment rights. Rep. Petersen is very knowledgeable about complex issues, and he knows how to protect the hard-working taxpayer from the big spenders at the Capitol.Click here to read more
- 17. Let's Put a Real Schmuck in Office!
Here's a great way to help Frank Schmuck beat RINO Jeff Dial in the Aug. 30 Primary. Please join your neighbors in LD18 (includes Ahwatukee, and parts of Chandler, Mesa, and Tempe) in a Volunteer Support event this Saturday, June 25, from 7:00 am - 10:00 am. See details following this note from Jim O'Connor.
For those of you who remember the Republican House & Senate sell outs who voted with the dems in support of Governor Brewer’s Medicaid Expansion (AKA Obamacate in AZ) in the summer of 2013, the name Jeff Dial may ring a bell. He was then serving in the House and the following year got elected to our State Senate. He continues to be a rogue republican, and not a good one.
This August we have the best opportunity ever to rid our state senate of this faker. Please join me this Saturday morning and meet and hear from Frank Schmuck who is challenging Dial for that Senate seat. Frank enjoys the endorsement of the Arizona Republican Assembly (AZRA) as well as my own personal endorsement. Even though you may live in a different district than Dial's LD 18, his votes affect all of us statewide.
So if you are only up for making calls on Frank's behalf, mailing out literature, or helping with a small donation, do come join me this Saturday.
8001 E Del Joya Drive
Scottsdale, AZ 85258
(GW NOTE: Jeff Dial was also one of the "Republicans" who refused to acknowledge parental authority, when he voted NO to the Parental Opt Out Bill (SB1455). He also voted to keep Common Core (HB2190).

- 18. Rep. Bob Thorpe's Letter Regarding Transgender Bathrooms
Recently, Gilbert Watch published Arizona Joins Texas in Lawsuit to Stop Federal Overreach. Arizona joined this lawsuit following a letter from Arizona lawmaker Representative Bob Thorpe (R-LD6). Rep. Thorpe has provided the letter to Gilbert Watch, as well as the data for how the State, Local and Federal education funds break down for 2014-2015.
Dear Arizona Superintendent of Schools Diane Douglas and Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich:
Legislators have been receiving numerous complaints from constituents who are very concerned with the threatening tone of the May 13, 2016 letter from U.S. Attorney General Lynch and U.S. Department of Education Secretary King.
The letter coerces our nation’s K-12 public schools and colleges to ensure that transgender students must be allowed to use the gender designated restrooms, changing rooms and locker facilities of their choosing, not necessarily that of their biological gender. It has been estimated that approximately 0.3% of U.S. individuals identify themselves as transgender.Click here to read more
- 19. Alert! Please Help Itasca Small Defeat Bob Worsley for Senate in LD25!
Itasca Small, a long-time supporter and activist for states rights; local control over education and stopping Common Core; and defending our State Superintendent's constitutional powers over education in our state; is running for State Senator against Bob Worsley (R-LD25 Mesa). Ms. Small has spent countless hours at our State Capitol educating our legislators on the proper role of government and on restoring local control over education in our public schools. Please click HERE to see her pledge and HERE to read her background on why she would like to serve her constituents in LD25.Click here to read more
This is our opportunity to rid LD25 of Bob Worsley who has long been a supporter of more federal involvement in our schools and Obamacare, and who continues to fight against all of our efforts to rid our state of Common Core! He does not understand states rights and the importance of pushing back against the continual overreach from the federal government. (See below.)
- 20. The Schools' War on Arizona's Children: Part 2 Online Charter Schools
Some Arizona parents, disgusted with the diabolical determination of their local schools to bully their children into taking the highly controversial AzMERIT exam, are considering online education for their children.
Think again. Online charter schools are worse. The extra harsh treatment is completely legal, based on ARS 15-808(B). The online charters are merely "following orders" as dictated by Arizona's legislators. "If a pupil fails to comply with the testing requirements and the school administers the tests pursuant to this subsection to less than ninety-five percent of the pupils in Arizona online instruction, the pupil shall not be allowed to participate in Arizona online instruction."
According to Facebook comments from several parents who refused to allow their children to take AzMERIT, their children were "locked out" of learning. They couldn't log on to their computers.
April 5. This parent posted: "Received a call from K12 (Arizona Virtual Academy, where 'students come first') at 3:10 pm -she said if we did not call her back before 3 pm today..AND if we did not show up tomorrow at the testing site- they would lock our account. Meaning student could not do his work..meaning they are dropping us from the school. IS THIS legal?"
The parent did not call, nor did she and her 3rd grader make the long drive to the remote testing site. The trip would have required her to take off work, over a period of 3-4 days, for a few hours each day. (NOTE: The "online" school doesn't administer AzMERIT "online." One parent stated that she would have to drive 120 miles to the testing site nearest her home.)
