Kelli Ward Beats John McCain in Latest Arizona Poll

Dr. Kelli Ward, Arizona Senator representing LD5 is 9 percentage points ahead of John McCain in a recent poll,  according to independent polling company Gravis Marketing that conducted the August 15 poll.  It surveyed 844 Republican primary voters and 427 Democratic.  This is a dramatic improvement over a similar poll taken in May which showed McCain favored over Ward.

The polls also suggest that either Ward or McCain could beat Democrat U.S. Representative "Pro Abortion Ann" Kirkpatrick.

John McCain was censored over a year ago by Arizona precinct committeemen all over the state for good reason.  This GOP vote followed censures by the Gila County Republican Party, as well as Maricopa, Cochise, Apache, and Santa Cruz County Republican Committees.  Most censures stated that John McCain had:

Jeff Flake’s got NO TIME for his Constituents: Not Even his Own Family

Lina Flake Hatch, Jeff Flake’s cousin, has been trying since March 9 to obtain answers from the politician who seems more interested in Washington than Arizona. She emailed Jeff on March 9, March 19, March 28, and again on April 17. She also sent her letter through the US mail twice to his Tempe office address in the envelope provided by his campaign requesting financial contributions. He has not answered her.

Jim O’Connor Announces Run for State Party Chairman of the AZGOP

I have tremendous respect for Jim O’Connor.  In the following press release, you will read about Jim’s role in renouncing the National Popular Vote.  I was one of the people he patiently educated regarding its problems.  Ultimately, a group of us were able to convince our Senator, Sylvia Allen, to back away from supporting it.  Jim is true to the Republican platform and has provided leadership in other areas as well, including the passage of HB2088, which protects students against surveys that gather private, personally identifiable information.  He advised his representative in LD23, Heather Carter, "Our 444 Precinct Committeemen are reflecting the opinions of the 70,000 registered republican votes in our district overwhelmingly protecting the rights of parents and children. Please represent these and other republicans who desire to restrain government overreach."  She voted in favor on reconsideration.  Mr. O’Connor has stood firmly in support of legislation that honors parental authority and rejects federal control of education in Arizona.

Christine Jones: Serial Exaggerator, Phony

It is beyond me why the voters in CD5 would want to be saddled with Christine Jones as their Representative in Congress.  She’s clueless about the character and demographics of its citizens–she lives in CD9, not CD5.  How do you “represent” citizens you know nothing about?   CD5 is one of the most conservative, family-oriented districts in Maricopa County.  After reviewing the history of Christine Jones, my head hurts.  But not as badly as the perpetual migraine that she will inflict on CD5.  Take away her paid handlers and well, think of a Conservative, and then take away courage, conviction, and good judgment.

Jones has a history of contradicting herself to the point of absurdity.  Add to this a shaky grasp of the Republican platform, high praise for Hillary Clinton, and a tendency toward self-aggrandizement.

Christine Jones wants to be…Governor…Secretary of State… Mayor…U.S. Senator…U.S. Representative…Somebody!

Her reason for not taking on her own district (CD9) defies logic.

CD9 is currently represented by Democrat/Liberal/Leftist Kyrsten Sinema.   Jones would be a conservative heroine if she had run in her own district and beat Sinema!  In November 2015, Jones was asked if she planned to run against Sinema in 2016.  She stated "Although (the 9th District) appears eminently winnable, pursuing a seat in Congress at this time is not the highest and best use of my time."  See Christine Jones Won’t Challenge Kyrsten Sinema.

By April 2016, she decided to pole vault into CD5 and run against a solid constitutional conservative, former Senate President Andy Biggs.

This carpet bagging didn’t sit well with the Republican Leadership of CD5.  They quickly responded in an 4/8/2016 Intellectual Conservative article titled CD5 Republican Legislative District Chairs call for Local Representation as follows:

Has YOUR Legislator been Endorsed by Pro Common Core, Anti-Parent “Stand for Children”?

Stand for Children/Arizona has just endorsed 26 candidates for the Arizona Legislature in the Primary Election on August 30.  “Stand for Children Arizona does not take its endorsement process lightly.  These candidates have been fully vetted to make sure they currently agree with, and will stay true to a majority of Stand’s policies and educational priorities that we believe will bring the quickest results."

A review of Stand for Children/Arizona’s website indicates that this group proudly supports the entire Common Core agenda, aka Arizona’s College and Career Ready Standards, including AzMerit.

Stand is proud to have defeated a litany of anti-Common Core legislation, as well as other bills that parents have fought for, including the defeated SB1455.  This bill would have acknowledged that parents know more than the State about what’s best for their own children.  These parents wanted to opt their children out of the unvalidated, secretive AzMerit.  Stand would have none of it.  See "Top Legislative Results."

Parents and their children suffered verbal and emotional abuse at the hands of school administrators, teachers, other parents, and other students for daring to opt out of AZMerit.  Remember?  See Sen. Jenn Daniels Raises Gilbert Taxes in Second Meeting as Mayor

On August 9, 2016, the Gilbert Town Council voted to increase taxes this year by $1.5 million dollars. It seems that, since former Mayor John Lewis and Council Members Eddie Cook, Jenn Daniels, and Jordan Ray earned a "Hero of Big Government" ranking from Americans for Prosperity in 2015,  the trend continues.  Council members are spinning and denying it’s a tax increase!

According to Mayor Jenn Daniels:  "In light of the incredible misinformation that is being disseminated on Facebook and other forums, I would like to set the record straight:  YOUR TAXES DID NOT GO UP by our vote last night or any other vote by our current Town Council."

The Arizona Tax Research Association (ATRA) called it a tax increase, as did the Town of Gilbert website!

ATRA stated:

"In a split vote, the Town of Gilbert elected to raise its secondary property tax for FY17 from a rate of $1.0567 to $1.0609.  This results in a tax levy increase of approximately $1.5 million.  Surprisingly, some council members attempted to argue the tax rate and levy increase wasn’t a tax increase at all. For town leaders to suggest this is not a tax increase is simple obfuscation.

"In actuality, the rate should have decreased substantially this year if they accounted for what property taxpayers have already paid.  For cities and towns, the secondary property tax is used exclusively for the repayment of voter-approved bonds.  The estimated debt service schedule in this year is $22.7 million.  The town has previously over-collected nearly $15 million for this purpose. This money is not a rainy day fund and cannot be used for any other purpose.  The town voted to use just 12% of this overpayment account ($1.7 million) to pay for debt service in FY17.  It is regrettable the town elected to increase taxes while it earns interest on past over-collections which sit in the bank.  Taxpayers must pay the debt-service on bonds, but they first ought to be credited for what they have already paid.  At a minimum, Gilbert owes a specific plan to its taxpayers to credit them back for what they have previously overpaid.  There is no financial justification to stockpile a massive sum as taxpayers are constitutionally obliged to repay the debt service on voter-approved debt each year via the property tax, making it an incredibly reliable and secure debt-instrument."

Town of Gilbert website:  "Proposed New and Increased Taxes or Fees"

The tax hike passed 4-2.  Here is the vote:
