Gilbert Watch Supports Warren Petersen for Arizona Senate

It has never been more important than now to elect solid conservatives with a voting record that backs up their rhetoric.  So it is with Warren Petersen, who is running for Arizona Senate in LD12.  As a state representative, he stood up for families and the unborn, for local support and control of education, and for the independent business person.  His votes are testimony to his fight against overbearing regulations that hurt businesses and our economy.  He has repeatedly protected our Second Amendment rights.  Rep. Petersen is very knowledgeable about complex issues, and he knows how to protect the hard-working taxpayer from the big spenders at the Capitol.

Dr. Kelli Ward; “Spoiler” Alex Meluskey; and John McCain’s Relentless Attacks on Kelli Ward

Recently, a supporter of Alex Meluskey stepped into an email that was sent from Gila County Republican Committee Chairman Gary Morris to the GCRC Precinct Committeemen announcing an upcoming PC meeting.  This Alex Meluskey Supporter isn’t one of our PC’s.  He took issue with an item that Chairman Morris had included in his email, which was a comment from Yavapai GOP Activist Jim Dutton which appeared in the 7/2/2016 MCRC News Briefs.

Mr. Dutton wrote: "Time to Take One for the Team – I wish to thank all of the Senatorial candidates for their willingness to run against John McCain. All of you have stressed the importance of retiring McCain for the good of Arizona and its citizens. It’s time now for each of you to evaluate the best course of action in order to accomplish the goal of removing McCain. You must put your egos aside and allow your patriotism and professed desire to serve your State and Country to be your guide. Everyone knows that multiple candidates in the primary race will only help John McCain. Therefore, we the people beseech Alex Meluskey, Scott McBean and Clair Van Steenwyck to take the high road and withdraw from this race today. The writing is on the wall guys and it’s time to face reality. Play the men for your people and unite behind the only candidate who has proven to be a challenger to John McCain – Kelli Ward. How do you want to be remembered? As a spoiler who helped get McCain elected or as a true patriot whose self-sacrifice and patriotism were clearly demonstrated for all of Arizona to see? Please, for all of Arizona! Take one for the Team."

The Supporter fired back at all the PC’s as follows:

"WHY doesn’t WARD DROP OUT and let somebody with a CONSERVATIVE VOTING RECORD run??WE THE PEOPLE HAVENT EVER AND WILL NOT VOTE FOR LIBERALS RUNNING ASD CONSERVATIVES.Check her voting record then Vote for Alex Meluskey for #AZSEN2016 #DUMPWARDINAZ."

Several of our PC’s nicely, but firmly, responded to the Supporter, with comments favorable to Mr. Dutton’s MCRC post.

Since I’m a GCRC PC, I’m publishing my response to the Meluskey Supporter, which follows:

Would your Candidate Support Life, Marriage and Family, Religious Freedom?

The Center for Arizona Policy (CAP) surveyed the candidates running for federal and state offices.  CAP promotes and defends the foundational values of life, marriage and family, and religious liberty.

Find out how the candidates answered the questions.  Simply Click on the link ArizonaVoterGuide.Com.  Fill in the blanks in order to immediately obtain your personalized voter guide, and click on each number to see the survey question, and how candidates responded.

The results might surprise you.  Candidate for Governor Scott Smith’s answers are a good example.  He would support adding "sexual orientation," "gender identity," or "gender expression" to the protected classes of race, religion, age, sex, and ancestry in anti-discrimination law.  (Question #11.)

Remember the battle against Medicaid Expansion?  The Center for Arizona Policy was cited in the following passionate statements made by Steve Smith, who was a Republican respresentative from LD11 at the time (not to be confused with Scott Smith).  Steve explains that the expansion of Medicaid would also increase the number of abortions.  Scott Smith, candidate for Governor, supports Medicaid Expansion.

Pro-Abortion Pres. Obama Vetoes Legislation Defunding Planned Parenthood

Planned Parenthood is responsible for the deaths of 320,000 preborn human infants every year.  They have been repeatedly videotaped admitting that they sell portions of these babies on a massive scale.  Even so, President Obama is unmoved and vetoed legislation that would have defunded this depraved organization.  Unfortunately, pro-lifers lack the congressional votes to override the veto of the most pro-abortion president in U.S. history.  (That piece of information should give you insight into the enormous power of our U.S. Congressmen, and why it’s critical to elect constitutional conservatives to those offices.)

According to a recent article in Live Action News:

"President Barack Obama vetoed legislation Friday that would have ended $400 million of the over $500 million in forced taxpayer funding going to Planned Parenthood for one year. The measure would have shifted Planned Parenthood’s public subsidies to comprehensive health care clinics that offer more health services and outnumber the abortion giant 20 to 1.

"H.R. 3762, which included efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act, is the first bill to pass both houses of Congress and make it to the president’s desk.

"The U.S. Senate passed the measure last year using the reconciliation process, which prevented Democrat lawmakers from filibustering the bill. The U.S. House approved the Senate version this week.

"While a veto by President Obama was expected, the passage of the bill shows that even under the most pro-abortion administration in U.S. history, there are enough pro-life votes to send a bill defunding America’s largest abortion chain to the White House."
