Anita Christy, editor and publisher of Gilbert Watch, has been self-employed in Arizona for the last 20 years. She currently owns and operates a health insurance agency. When living in Northern Arizona, she was a volunteer EMT, wildland fire fighter, search and rescue technician, and a high angle rope rescue technician.
Cory Carpenter was raised in a conservative, Christian household on a farm in Gilbert. Cory has been a prolific writer most of his life, including poetry, short stories, a published Western novel Last Man Standing: The Landen Legacy, and various essays. His latest essay was published by Mises.org., titled “Life and Health Are at Stake as the Economy Grinds to a Halt.”
Cory graduated from Heritage Academy High school in Mesa, AZ. At Heritage he learned principles of liberty and the genius of the Constitution from Earl Taylor, then President of the National Center for Constitution Studies (NCCS), Rick Dalton, an NCCS instructor and retired Mesa Police Officer, among other great scholars.
Cory achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in 2002. From 2003-2005, he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Portugal (Europe). In 2007, he founded Defenders of Liberty International (now inactive) to promote liberty.
Cory is a business and data analyst with a B.S. degree in Business Management. He has been married to Jennifer for almost 10 years and they have two children, William and Hannah. In his spare time, Cory enjoys spending time with family, the outdoors, and oil painting.
Cory is a sixth generation Arizonan and has lived in Gilbert for over 30 years. He currently resides in south east Gilbert.
Jared Taylor, MBA, works in the administration at Heritage Academy in Mesa, Arizona. Jared spent 6 years with Motorola and 4 with Honeywell in human resources and global staffing operations capacities. Trained in Six Sigma and LEAN methodologies, he used these tools to improve quality and saved millions of dollars at these firms. Jared serves on the Constitution Week USA Board of Directors, and has lectured on the original intent of the US Constitution in Tennessee and Indiana for the National Center for Constitutional Studies. He also works with the Boy Scouts of America.
