Arizona Senator Judy Burges LD22 – Speaks Against Agenda 21

On February 18, 2013, State Senator Judy Burges introduced a bill to the Senate Government and Environment Committee titled SB1403 United Nations Rio Declaration; prohibition.  Co-sponsors of the bill included Senators Chester Crandell LD6, Don Shooter LD13, Kelli Ward LD5, Gail Griffin LD14, Al Melvin LD11, and Rick Murphy LD21.  This bill passed the Senate Committee along party lines, and so it will continue moving forward through the legislature.  Voting against it were Democrat Senators Steve Farley LD9, Katie Hobbs LD24, and Jack Jackson LD7.

Here is a link to the Arizona Legislature, SB1403 Information page.  It includes the bill, sponsors, agendas, and video.

We have a Republican majority in the Arizona Legislature.  However, many of these so-called Republicans vote much differently than their campaign websites and marketing literature asserts.  Because of this, it will be important for the grassroots voters to encourage, cajole, remind, and ride herd on them to ensure that they vote as Republicans, not Democrats.

This is what Senator Judy Burges had to say

"Good afternoon Madam Chairman and members of the Government and Environment Committee. I am Senator Judy Burges representing District #22, and I appear before you to address a United Nations program that is designed to change our way of life, our heritage, and our liberties as outlined and protected by our precious Constitution. I testify before you against the seductive evils contained in United Nations Agenda for the Twenty-first Century, or more easily stated: Agenda-21.

“It is the duty of a State Legislator (my sworn duty) to always be not only vigilant but suspicious and jealous guardians of the rights of the citizens against encroachments from the federal government; to constantly have their attention awake to the conduct of the national rulers, and to be ready, if anything improper appears, to sound the alarm to the people, and not only to be the VOICE, but, if necessary, the ARM of their discontent!” – Alexander Hamilton, Federalist No.26

"The U. N. Agenda-21 program sounds wonderful on face value – sustainability, social justice, equity for the masses; however, the truth contained within this U.N. program depicts something sinister and dark. The plan calls for government to take control of all land use and not leave any of the decision making in the hands of private property owners. It is assumed by the backers of Agenda-21 that people are not good stewards of their land and the government will do a better job if it is in control. Individual rights are to give way to the needs of the global community as determined by a global governing body – not by local elected representatives like our City Councils, Boards of Supervisors, and even State Legislators.

"Furthermore, the contents of this U.N. program reveal that people should be rounded up off their own land and relocated to human settlements close to employment centers and transportation hubs. Another dimension to this U.N. program named the Wildlands Project, spells out how most of the land in our country, our state, is to be set aside for non-humans. Furthermore, this well-orchestrated agenda calls for lowering the standards of living for Americans so people in poorer countries will have more, we will have less, equality will become the new norm, and the redistribution of wealth will be the vehicle by which equality will be achieved.

"It is time to stop the political correctness that has enveloped our society and bluntly expose the evils contained within this program that already has been launched on an unsuspecting public. It is time for Legislators to step up and be the jealous guardians of the rights of Arizona citizens.

"Allow me to share with you some of the outrageous statements by individuals such as David Foreman, Earth First.

“We must make this place an insecure and inhospitable place for Capitalists and their projects, we must reclaim the roads and plowed lands, halt dam construction, tear down existing dams, free shackled rivers and return to wilderness millions of tens of millions of acres of presently settled land.”

"Only about 13% of Arizona land is privately owned; 60% already is in the hands of the government, but still this is NOT sufficient to offset the insatiable power grab currently underway by a Global Elite. The outrageous philosophy contained in Agenda-21 will destroy Arizona business, displace Arizona families and control every aspect of our lives as described by Harvey Ruvin, Vice Chairman, of the powerful but not sanctioned governmental body called the International Council of Local Environmental Initiatives, or (ICLEI).

This body of non-elected, non-responsive to citizens is tasked with carrying out the goals of U.N. Agenda-21 at the local level. Mr. Ruvin states:

“Individual rights will have to take a back seat to the collective.”

Are you ready to give up your private property?

This my friends is a direct quote from the  the 1976 UN’s Habitat I Conference report.

Land…cannot be treated as an ordinary asset, controlled by individuals and subject to the pressures and inefficiencies of the market. Private land ownership is also a principal instrument of accumulation and concentration of wealth, therefore contributes to social injustice.”

"I am not the resident expert on U.N. Agenda-21. We have many people who have come forward to speak today that know more than I on this insidious program. Madam Chairman, while not an expert, I am a legislative voice practicing vigilance and jealous guardianship of the rights of the citizens in our Great State of Arizona. I am here today to sound an alarm. I pray this committee, and indeed, our collective Arizona Legislative body joins me to sound the alarm to the people as Alexander Hamilton clearly stated in his Federalist writings.

THANK YOU!"
