Jeff Flake introduced federal legislation (H.R. 2380, May 2009) that would impose a carbon TAX on energy use. As a scientist studying the global warming issue for many years now, I can tell you that the idea of future catastrophic global warming is far, far outside reality. Taxing the American people on a substance that is the by-product of our industrialization and prosperity, when it will have negligible impact on future global CO2 emissions or global temperature, is just plain wrong. Carbon dioxide is not the problem, it’s Washington politicians — politicians who forget the people they represent and the principles on which they were elected. Please join me in supporting Jeff Smith for Congress. Mr. Smith won’t become part of the establishment and he’ll never support legislation to tax or reduce CO2 emissions.
