Krauser: Someone Who Understands

Shane Krauser will be Gilbert’s next Mayor, and for good reason. He understand the most fundamental role of an elected official: to protect your rights.

In his most recent email Krauser describes how he’ll push back against the heavy hand of government that consistently attempts to kill small businesses and limit individual rights.

He wrote, “Our business owners shouldn’t have to operate on the fear of losing money or even their business, especially when the law is clear. The duty of government is to “secure the rights of the people,” and Gilbert should have leadership that is non-negotiable on this issue and acts prospectively. This is not a game, but, instead, is fundamental to the duty of any government actor.”

Where have you been hiding Mr. Krauser?

We recently celebrated America’s 247th birthday. A few of the famous words in the Declaration of Independence read, “That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed”. Some may say that the most important word in the Declaration of Independence might be “secure“.

In this sacred text, Jefferson explained that the basic right of government was to protect the inalienable rights of all mankind (e.g. life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness). Sadly, most politicians have no concept of this responsibility even though they took an oath of office to uphold this very standard.
