Shane Krauser is a new name in Gilbert politics. While he’s lived here for many years, he hasn’t held office yet. That is likely to change due to the wide reaching support he’s receiving from people of all parties or no parties at all.
Why is he appealing to so many people? It’s not because he’s part of the three-ring circus our current Town Council has become. It’s because he has a very simple message that appeals to Democrats, Republicans, or Independents. It’s the shares the way he approaches public policy. In short, he has three tests to evaluate proposals.
- Leave people alone.
- Government should follow the rules.
- People should be able to keep the fruits of their labor.
At one meet and greet, a registered Democrat who attended was initially skeptical of Mr. Krauser. After hearing Shane review his beliefs, he told Mr. Krauser, “I believe those as well. Why wouldn’t everyone vote for you?”
