Shane Stapley, Preferred Candidate for Gilbert Unified School District Governing Board

Four candidates, for just two openings, are running for Gilbert Public Schools – Governing Board as announced Friday, 8/6/2010, in a recent Arizona Republic article. The requirements for qualification include obtaining at least 400 petition signatures. We are very glad to see overwhelming support for Shane Stapley who filed 670 signatures with the elections office! Also receiving significant support is Staci Burk at 710 signatures. Other candidates for school board include Blake Sacha and Adelaide Severson with 479 and 471 signatures respectively.

Other qualifications to become a Governing Board member? A person must be a registered voter of this state and a resident of the school district for one year immediately preceding the day of election.
