The Superintendent Leads the Blind

There once was a Superintendent of a Zoo who called together his 5 blind directors. “I need more money to build a bigger house for the elephant.”

“Well, just how big is this elephant?” asked one of the directors.

“Come with me.”

And so he took them to the elephant. One of the directors got hold of the tusk. “Why it’s a spear.” Another got hold of a leg. “No, it’s a tree.” Another spread his hands across the elephant’s side. “It’s a wall.” Another got hold of it’s tail. “It’s no bigger than a snake.” The 5th director moved to Higley.

And the superintendent said, “No!No!No!No!No! I need more money"!

Before you accuse Gilbert Watch of being unfair to the Administration of Gilbert Public Schools, I want you to look at two websites:

Here is the GPS website that contains “the budget.” The 2011-2012 Proposed Budget contains 8 pages. You can make an appointment with GPS to visit the District Office in person to be shown more detail.

Here is the Town of Gilbert website that contains several different financials.

The 2011-2012 Annual Budget Book is contains 344 pages of detail. The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for Fiscal Year Ended 6/30/2011 contains 147 pages of excellent detailed information. These are just two of multiple reports available online.

Gilbert Watch rests its case.
