Nearly three dozen Gilbert government officials earn a six-figure salary, and more than 80 percent make more than the average Gilbert worker, according to data obtained by the Gilbert Republic.
An analysis of pay rates for 822 full-time employees within Gilbert’s general fund puts the average town employee’s annual salary at about $58,800, or about $28 an hour.
The most recent census statistics show the typical employee in Gilbert – including government and non-government jobs – earns about $40,700 per year, which is $1,000 less than a Gilbert park ranger is paid.
