Email Gilbert Council: NO to Making ICC 2012 International Codes LAW!

Submitted by Rusdon Ray, Draftsman/Home Designer

Ask Gilbert Town Council to not pass as law the 2012 Family of International codes which have come to them as “recommendations and suggestions" only.
Keep them as they came down to us as “recommendations and suggestions" only!

(2012 codes as proposed!)

Is passing these as laws on Gilbert Citizens and business owners Outrageous? I think so.

We Have to Pass it So We can See What’s in It!

Like ObamaCare, these codes are being passed into law without being read, or understood.  In fact, seven years ago, the Gilbert Council, at the urging of Town Staff, passed the 2006 International Building Codes into law.  Town Inspectors are still finding new provisions to enforce in these mandated codes. Interpreting the International Codes should be left to the professionals such as Designers, Builders, Architects, & Engineers, just as the Interpretation of Medical Treatments should be left to the Doctors, Nurses, and Care givers rather than mandated through thousands of pages of unread national or state healthcare bills.

Because they are law, a building inspector must stop a home owner from moving into their home and getting their power turned on if the correct toilet, shower head, windows, insulation, or light bulbs, etc., haven’t been installed. See Out of Control EPA and Code Enforcers.

PLEASE TAKE ACTION – Send an email to Mayor John Lewis and all Council members asking them to not adopt as law the 2012 International Codes.
Keep them as “recommendations and suggestions" only!

Agenda 21 is in Your Community, by Henry Lamb.   Until his recent death, Henry Lamb was the Chairman of Sovereignty International, and founder of the Environmental Conservation Organization (ECO) and Freedom21, Inc.  Relevant quote:  “Gary Lawrence, former Director of the Center for Sustainable Communities at the University of Washington, and Chief Planner for the City of Seattle, told an audience in London that: " In the case of the U.S., our local authorities are engaged in planning processes consistent with LA21 [Local Agenda 21] but there is little interest in using the LA21 brand…. So, we call our processes something else, such as comprehensive planning, growth management or smart growth."

International Code Council.   Creators of the ICC International Building Codes, this group is made up of unelected, unaccountable bureaucrats that fully intend to harness the power of the legislative process to force its vision of “sustainability” on all Americans.  Personal choice and private property rights don’t matter. This group partners with Freddie Mac and Fannie May.  See ICC’s Legislative Activities and ICC’s Government Relations.  Even though you see the word “international” in its title, its members are limited to the United States, and places like Guam, the US Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.
