Eric Johnson Versus Jill Humpherys: Gilbert School Board

Did you see the answers given by Gilbert School Board candidates to questions asked by the Center for Arizona Policy?  Two candidates (Lily Tram and Blake Sacha) declined to respond to the survey.

There were stunning differences in the answers given by Eric Johnson versus Jill Humpherys!

Eric Johnson and Jill Humpherys are the only candidates running for the 2-year seat.  Here are some of the differences between them.

Question #5.  Do you SUPPORT or OPPOSE increasing state and local taxes to provide more funding for schools and school facility projects?

Eric Johnson OPPOSES

Jill Humpherys SUPPORTS

Question #7:  Do you SUPPORT or OPPOSE allowing parents to use tax credits, vouchers, or education savings accounts to enable children to attend any public, private, or home school?

Eric Johnson SUPPORTS

Jill Humpherys OPPOSES

Question #14:  Do you SUPPORT or OPPOSE presenting competing or alternative theories regarding the origin of life when evolution is taught in science classes?

Eric Johnson SUPPORTS

Jill Humpherys DID NOT ANSWER THE QUESTION

GilbertWatch Note:  There has been much debate among scientists and intellectuals regarding Intelligent Design and irreducible complexity (the inability of certain mechanisms, such as blood clotting, to have evolved).  Competing theories can be found in these books, among others:  Uncommon Dissent: Intellectuals Who Find Dawinism Unconvincing (William A Dembski, Editor); Darwin’s Black Box: The Biochemical Challenge to Evolution by Michael Behe.  See also The Role of Religion in the Founding Fathers Constitutional Formula

Question #15:  Do you SUPPORT or OPPOSE prohibiting school district funds to be paid to associations or other organizations for political activities?

Eric Johnson OPPOSES

Jill Humpherys SUPPORTS.

So, Jill Humpherys will raise your state and local taxes, deny parents to use tax credits, etc, to allow their children to attend the school of their choice, doesn’t know what to say about competing or alternative theories about the origin of life, and would allow school district funds (i.e., tax dollars) to be used to pay for political activites.

The Choice is Clear!  Please VOTE for Eric Johnson for Gilbert School Board
