Gilbert, Arizona Named 20th Best Place to Live in the USA

….“We are honored to receive this recognition,” says Gilbert Mayor John Lewis. “Premier education, commitment to safety, and a playful community – This is Gilbert!”

Those of us who live, or have lived, in Gilbert, know it’s a wonderful, family-oriented, civic-minded, friendly place to live.  We also know that Gilbert’s school district is among the top-rated in America.

Now, 24/7 Wall Street has named Gilbert number 20 among the 50 best places to live in America.  Gilbert is the only Arizona city on the list of America’s 50 Best Cities to Live. The study reviewed 550 U.S. cities with populations over 65,000, comparing them in seven major categories: crime, economy, education, housing, environment, leisure, and infrastructure. 24/7 Wall St. attributes Gilbert’s low crime, high-quality schools, availability of outdoor leisure activities, including the Riparian preserve, and its proximity to Phoenix for the community’s high ranking.

Some time ago Gilbert Watch published an article written by Gilbert Town Council Member Jared Taylor titled "Safe Cities and Towns."  In it, he stated, "By instilling both a love of America and strong moral values into our community, strong families are the Most Valuable Player in Gilbert."

Gilbert is also the site of the largest celebration of our United States Constitution.  See Constitution Week USA – Gilbert – September 17-24.  "Constitution Week USA is both an educational opportunity and a celebration of the United States Constitution of America, which was signed on September 17, 1787.  Constitution Week has taken place in Gilbert since it was founded by John Lewis in 2002.  Lewis is the current Mayor of Gilbert.  The week long event was brought to fruition by a dedicated team of patriots including Barbara Stowell, Bill Norton, and Jared Taylor, led by Councilmember Dave Petersen.  Bill Norton built most of the displays and put thousands of dollars of his own money into the project.  Over the years, many, many people have volunteered their time, money, energy, and passion to this annual celebration, which attracts thousands of visitors to Gilbert."
