Republican Party in Gilbert and Queen Creek Endorses Matt Nielsen for Gilbert Mayor

Gilbert, AZ- The Republican Party in Gilbert & Queen Creek, Arizona’s 12th Republican Legislative District, endorses Gilbert Mayoral candidate Matt Nielsen. Nielsen won his heavily contested Primary in August and faces a run off in the General Election.

The Republican Party in Gilbert & Queen Creek is excited to overwhelmingly endorse Matt Nielsen for Mayor of Gilbert! “He is a strong advocate for the common sense positions of our Republican platform, defending our courageous police, protecting our family friendly community, keeping taxes low, and strengthening a strong and vibrant economic base in Gilbert,” said Mickie Niland, Chairwoman of LD12. “We need strong leadership right now in our Town, and Matt Nielsen is that candidate.”

Matt Nielsen is married to Julia and together they have 4 children. Matt earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from California State University, Sacramento and a Master’s degree in Negotiation and Dispute Resolution from Creighton University School of Law.  Matt has owned a small business and is currently the Executive Vice President for Charter One. 

Chairman Niland continues; “Mr. Nielsen’s degree and background in Conflict Resolution is such a valuable asset that he brings to the table! As the Chief Executive of the Town, he will utilize these valuable skills to deal with the complex issues that he faces as Mayor.”


Leading up to the November 3, 2020 General Election, the Republicans in Gilbert & Queen Creek will continue to be actively involved in registering voters, holding forums to educate voters, and participating  in various projects to get out the vote.
