“The Battle: How the Fight Between Free Enterprise and Big Government will Shape America’s Future,” by Arthur G Brooks

This new book should be read right now by constitutional conservatives. The author is Arthur G Brooks, president of the American Enterprise Institute.

The reason I strongly recommend this 128-page book is because it provides the tools that conservatives and constitutionalists need to push back against the Progressives and their domination of the debate through the media and our educational system. They have successfully marginalized conservative Republicans as “rich,” “heartless,” and “unfair.” They have been successful in perpetuating the lie that we “care more about money and special interests than we care about people.”

What this book does is make the moral case for free enterprise. Free enterprise embodies the values that define our nation: individual liberty, equal opportunity, entrepreneurship, and self-reliance. Further, this book gives us the tools and the rhetoric we need to fight back. Until we can thoroughly ground ourselves in the true principles of free enterprise and the morality of our culture, we will lose this battle. "Nothing less than the Soul of America is at stake."

The truth is, it is the Progressives who think that money is important and the source of happiness. They define “fairness” as the redistribution of WEALTH. They are fixated on the idea that money is the answer. In contrast, we believe that what is important is “equality of the opportunity to pursue happiness.” We value “earned success,” not “unearned money.”

Ours is a moral culture, grounded in our belief in God. Our entire culture of prosperity and free enterprise has done more to alleviate poverty than any socialist system throughout the world.

This book will help all of us take control of the debate.
