Let’s Rally for Victor Petersen for Gilbert Town Council

The great news is that Gilbert Town Council Member Victor Petersen has turned in his petition signatures!  Now, it’s time to help him raise money for his campaign for reelection.  Gilbert Watch supported Victor four years ago, and we are very proud that we never regretted it for a second!  He is a rock solid, constitutional conservative.  His voting record mirrors his campaign promises.

To donate to Victor’s campaign, go HERE. Here is a letter from Victor.

Dear friends,

I am honored by and grateful for all the help I received in collecting signatures for my race. I am happy to announce that I have more than enough signatures to put my name on the ballot and that is thanks to all of you for your help!

With signatures complete, I am entering the fundraising stage of the campaign and I can’t emphasize enough the importance of small donations. Even $5 is a wonderful donation as that reflects a grassroots campaign which characterizes my efforts in government. While protecting individual rights protects special interests some of the time, generally special interests do not appreciate the fact that they can’t control my votes. They know that I am loyal only to the principles of freedom which benefit everyone equally. This means the everyday citizen like you will have to contribute in order to have a successful campaign.

As a fiscal conservative, I will make the most of every hard-earned dollar that you contribute and I will not rest in my never-ending quest for lower taxes so you can keep more of those hard-earned dollars.

Thank you for your support!

Sincerely,

Victor Petersen
Town Council Member and Candidate

Gilbert Community Action Network Needs Volunteers!

by Victor Petersen, Director
For Our City – Gilbert

We are just a few weeks away from Apr 12, and we are grateful for the support we have received so far. However, there are still many opportunities to serve our neighbors in need.  Please click HERE to volunteer for one of the many opportunities to help our neighbors.  Once you are on the site, click on "Volunteer Registration."   You will see many places and ways to volunteer.  Do you want to help young children learn to read?  How about helping with some landscaping for the Starbright Foundation?  Several local elementary schools need some fresh paint!  How about helping some churches that provide a safe place for the homeless?

Neighbors helping neighbors is a long tradition in Gilbert.

Thanks to the Gilbert Community!

Profiles in Heartfelt Giving – For Our City

Have you heard about an event coming up called “We Are Gilbert Day” on Saturday April 13?  It’s being hosted by For Our City.
Gilbert Town Council Member Victor Petersen has been at the forefront of efforts to reduce and ultimately remove taxpayer funding of charities and non-profits, and replace tax dollars with private, voluntary giving. There are no town or taxpayer resources used for For Our City’s group of dedicated volunteers, so you won’t see much about it on the Town’s website.  Meetings are held in private offices.

Food On Foot

Thank you to Mickie Niland for submitting Food On Foot to GilbertWatch.  Back in 1996, Jay Goldringer stood on the steps of the Hollywood Post Office, handing out food to the homeless from the trunk of his car. Gradually, in the Jewish tradition that “there is no higher form of charity than empowering people to stand on their own two feet,” Goldringer started his “Work-For-Food” 7 day a week trash clean up program.
